Statement on the Death of Pope Francis

We mourn the passing of Pope Francis and give thanks for his life and ministry. Pope Francis' focus on mercy was an inspiration for many, and reminded the faithful of God's love for them. His compassionate witness gave hope, especially to the poor whom he loved greatly. We pray for our Roman Catholic sisters and brothers as they grieve, as well as for those organizing and overseeing the transition. May Pope Francis rest in peace and rise in glory.
