Statement on Racial Inequality

6/3/2020

Our core charism as a Society is mercy. We must, therefore, condemn the murder of Mr. George Floyd as an unmerciful action and seek justice from civil authorities. We also call for full investigations into other recent killings of people of color which have shocked us collectively as a nation.

We also heed the call of Mr. Floyd's family and plead for an end to additional violence. It is imperative that civil authorities act in the aftermath of recent killings by working to aggressively dismantle disproportionalities affecting people of color, especially within the criminal justice system. Furthermore, we must all commit ourselves to implementing mercy towards others by eliminating disparities which adversely impact our Brothers in Sisters in Christ.

May the "the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:7) and may we all come to the realization that we are made equally in the image of God (Gen. 1:27).

Prayer During the Pandemic

4/1/2020

God of Mercy, hear our prayers during this time of pandemic. Help those who are ill, their families, their caretakers, and all those affected by the virus. Be with those in economic uncertainty and guide the leaders of nations to act in the best interests of their people. Save those who have died that they may rest with you in eternal peace. Protect the healthy and heal us of our infirmities in soul and body. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
R/ Pray for us, Mother of Mercy, that we may experience the mercy of God.

The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us. And we beheld His glory as of the Only-Begotten Son of God.

May the glory of the Christ-Child ever shine upon you and may the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Hoy Ghost descend upon you and remain with you always. Amen.

Novena and Feast

11/10/2019

The feast of the Patroness of the Society, Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn (Mother of Mercy), occurs on November 16th. A seminarian of the Society, our brother Christopher, has created a novena to be used for the feast. We hope you will join us in honoring Our Lady and praying for the priesthood.

A Renewed Partnership

10/8/2019

Picture Abps. Myers and Kortenhof
On October 7, 2019, the Old Roman Catholic Church (English Rite) and the Old Roman Catholic Church in Great Britain re-affirmed their commitment to unity and established a formal intercommunion under the title of The Old Roman Catholic Union. This is notable as both churches descend from Archbishop Arnold Harris Mathew and were previously unified during the time of Archbishops Wilfred Barrington-Evans and Robert Alfred Burns. The churches lost contact circa 1974 but with the establishment of the Old Roman Catholic Union they have agreed to again partner together to build up the Body of Christ. Signing the document were Archbishops from each church.

Easter Pastoral, 2019.

4/22/2019

Christ is Risen!

Our Paschal joy this year is tempered by news out of Sri Lanka. There our Christian brothers and sisters were mercilessly attacked as they announced the good news of the resurrection. It is an unfortunate reminder of the presence of terrorism in our lives, even in our churches and holiest places. We pray for all persecuted persons that God will change the hearts of their persecutors and that they may live in the peace we believe all deserve. May those who died rest in peace and those who were injured recover from their injuries. This year may our focus be on our persecuted brethren and their plight.

Sincerely in Christ,

+William
